Basic Drawing

Ages 6-9

A guided representational drawing class geared to the skill set of the learning group. As students master basic elements of line and shape, we introduce new ideas like form, perspective, texture and value. Personal expression, individuality and ingenuity are encouraged! We work from both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional visual resources. (1 hour) Ongoing registration, you can start any time.

Drawing and Painting

Ages 9 and up

(parents welcome to enroll, too!)

Beginning students are encouraged to work through a series of drawing exercises as we explore line, shape, value, perspective and color. Students then select their own subject matter and media. As beginners gain confidence, some move into painting with watercolor, acrylics or oils. Additional materials fees might be required, depending on media. Individualized instruction allows each student to follow his or her own learning path. (1.5 hours) Registration ongoing, you can start any time.

Kindergarten

Ages 5-6

A beginning class in representational drawing designed for the attention span and motor skills of the kindergarten artist. Children master the ability to recognize the basic lines and shapes, and place them in designs, patterns and drawings of familiar objects and animals. (1 hour) Ongoing registration, you can start any time.
